Knowing God and Experiencing Peace from God

Knowing God and Experiencing Peace from God

Speaker: Gary Jones

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." A.W. Tozer

Scripture:

Matthew 16: 13-17
13 When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”
14 They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”
15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.”
17 Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven.

In the song, "How deep the Father's love," The lyrics are "How deep the Father's love for us, How vast beyond all measure."

On Sunday, we sang, "His Mercy is More." One line says " a sea without bottom or shore"

Table Discussion
1. "Who do you say I am?" When you think of God, how would you describe God to someone who asks?

2. Discuss a time when you experienced God's presence in your life and the experience caused you to be at peace, everything became calm.
